The plans include the installing aeration for a healthier year-round fish habitat. Casting platforms will also be built and a foot bridge to allow anglers to walk the full perimeter of the pond. Although the City of Lacombe has plans to improve access to the Pond, the best way to access currently is to park your vehicle on 53 Avenue and walk in via the land located between the Lacombe Police Station and Agrai-Dairy Mart. Ltd. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, LFGA meetings will be held online via Zoom until further notice. The LFGA will continue meeting on the second Tuesday of each month.
If you wish to participate, please e-mail President@lfga.ca for the meeting link. The Lacombe City Council has approved a $3,000/yr five-year sponsorship of the Alberta Conservation Association's (ACA) fish stocking program at the Len Thompson Fish Pond Park.
