Wilson's Beach offers both a campground and a fisheries public access site. The campground is a popular family oriented summer camping destination on the east shore of Gull Lake, about 15 minutes west of Lacombe.
It features serviced and unserviced sites, a boat launch, and a store, with a full-time caretaker. The boat launch and pier are open for public fishing use, and provide lake access for ice fishing in the winter.
Burbank Park sits at the confluence of the Blindman and Red Deer rivers, southeast of Blackfalds, and offers a campground and day use area with fishing access, as well as a meeting hall for rent.
Campground amenities include 22 sites (some of them powered), four non-powered group camping areas, baseball, basketball, playground and picnic areas. The day use public access fishing area where the Blindman river flows into the Red Deer offers rewarding angling opportunities surrounded by spectacular scenery.
