The newly opened Boulder Lake Trout Pond, about 10 minutes west of Blackfalds off of Highway 597 and Range Road 275, is welcoming some new accessibility upgrades. Lacombe Fish and Game Association and Alberta Conservation Association volunteers completed the installation of a new floating dock and four casting platforms. These upgrades were funded thanks to the Alberta Conservation Association Conservation, Community and Education Grants. The new docks and casting platforms will result in greater accessibility to the water body, increase chances to get to deeper water and allow for a more pleasant fishing experience.
